Sector Indices

Sector indices enable investors to benchmark the performance of stocks grouped by specific market sectors or industries. It empowers investors to make more selective choices, and listed companies to better track progress relative to their respective peer group.
The NYSE Index Group compiles nearly 100 sector-specific indices. These include:

• The NYSE Energy Index, NYSE Healthcare Index and the NYSE Financial Index which give investors and issuers a more defined snapshot of three major sectors within the NYSE marketplace.
• NYSE Arca Tech 100 Index- Modeled as a multi-industry technology index, the NYSE Arca Tech 100 provides a benchmark for measuring the performance of technology-related companies operating across a broad spectrum of industries
• NYSE Arca Oil Index- designed to measure the performance of the oil industry through changes in the prices of a cross section of widely held corporations involved in the exploration, production and development of petroleum
• Our three gold-based indices, the NYSE Arca Gold BUGS Index, the NYSE Gold Miners Index and our new NYSE Arca Junior Gold BUGS Index which offers exposure to globally listed small cap gold mining companies that have no or limited hedging exposure.
